2. Website access and hosting

This website is provided through Cloudflare Pages. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare also delivers the content through its network and provides protection against attacks.

This involves processing, in particular, IP addresses, requested URLs, access times and technical browser, connection and security information. This enables content delivery and the detection of faults and attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of this portfolio.

Cloudflare's data processing agreement is incorporated into its Self-Serve Subscription Agreement. Processing may also take place outside the EU, particularly in the USA. Cloudflare participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Where its conditions are met, transfers rely on the European Commission's corresponding adequacy decision (Article 45 GDPR). For other restricted international transfers, the agreement provides for EU Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary safeguards (Article 46 GDPR). Cloudflare also processes certain network and security data as an independent controller.

I do not maintain an additional visitor database of my own. The provider's retention periods depend on operational and security purposes and legal requirements; Cloudflare does not specify one uniform period for all types of data. Details are available in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and its data processing agreement and transfer safeguards.

3. Cookies and browser functions

The website does not use its own analytics or advertising cookies. It does not integrate advertising networks, embedded social media feeds or external video players. Fonts, images and the CV are loaded from this website. The PDF viewer runs in your browser.

Cloudflare may use technically necessary cookies for security checks. Where this access is strictly necessary to provide the service expressly requested by you, it is based on Section 25(2), point 2 of the German TDDDG; subsequent processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Information about individual security cookies and their duration is available in the Cloudflare cookie overview.

“Copy email” copies the displayed contact address to your clipboard only when you click it. The website does not read the clipboard's previous contents. This function serves only the copy action you request.

4. Contact by email

If you write to me, I process your email address, your name if provided, the message contents and any attached files to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, my interest in responding to incoming messages. If you request steps towards entering a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies.

The contact mailbox uses Gmail. Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and potentially other Google group companies process message and connection data. Processing outside the EU is possible. Google refers in particular to adequacy decisions, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified US companies, and Standard Contractual Clauses where necessary. Information and details on obtaining the safeguards can be found in the Google Privacy Policy and its information on international data transfers.

Messages are deleted once the enquiry is completed and no further correspondence, statutory retention requirement or protection of legal claims requires their storage. Contact is voluntary; without a return address I cannot reply. Visiting the website alone does not send a message to my inbox.

5. Links to other websites

Linked organisations are not embedded as external content. The website instructs your browser not to send referrer information about the source page when following a link. If you follow a link, the destination operator's privacy information applies.

6. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Articles 15 to 20 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent you have given with effect for the future.

Right to object: You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). To do so, write to the email address above.

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly where you normally reside, work or believe an infringement has occurred. The authority responsible for my place of residence is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.

I do not use data processed through this website for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, or for profiling for such decisions.
